Jeremiah 23:5    Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch [ssemah, offspring], and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgement and justice in the earth. Zechariah 3:8b    . . . for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the BRANCH. [ssemah, offspring], Zechariah 6:12    And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH [ssemah, offspring],; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the Lord. Isaiah 4:2a    In that day shall the branch [ssemah, offspring], of the Lord be beautiful and glorious, . . .

   The Hebrew word ssemah (translated "branch") is "a sprout, that which springs up, a shoot, or an offspring." The gospel of Matthew is the record of Jesus Christ the BRANCH who was to come as KING to Israel. The gospel of Mark is the record of Jesus Christ the BRANCH who was to come as GOD'S SERVANT. The gospel of Luke is the record of Jesus Christ the BRANCH who was to come as A MAN. The gospel of John is the record of Jesus Christ the BRANCH of the Lord who was to come as THE SON OF GOD.
