The Fountain of Living Waters

Jeremiah 2:13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: . . .

If God's people are being destroyed it is because they lack a knowledge of God and His wonderful word. When we develop our own ideas and ways of worshipping and understanding God we are like Gladly who made his own cracked jug for water and then tried to get a drink. God is a fountain of endless supply. Our own cisterns are limited and broken and can hold no water. We must come back to the endless source of supply. God is the fountain of living waters and His word is the source of the knowledge we need to quench our thirst for truth.
