Like a Fire Like a Hammer Jeremiah 23:39    Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces? Psalm 12:6    The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Acts 20:32    And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

   God's Word is like a fire and a hammer. The same fire that burns up chaff can be used to purify silver. The same hammer that can break a rock in pieces can be used to build a temple or sculpt a masterpiece. Our attitude toward God and His Word determines the type of impact it has in our lives. When we believe God's Word we receive the positive results promised by that Word. When we do not believe God's Word we are broken upon it for God's Word is truth.
