The Lamb of God
John 1:29
The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

1 Peter 1:19
But [ye were redeemed] with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

1 Corinthians 5:7b
For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us.

In Exodus chapter 12 verses 3-11, God gave Moses and the children of Israel His word regarding the passover lamb. A lamb without spot or blemish was to be sacrificed. The blood of the lamb was shed for the sins of the people. The flesh of the lamb was for the healing of the people. This was done each year until Jesus Christ came. Jesus Christ was the TRUE passover lamb. The Old Testament passover sacrifices were all examples of what Christ would do when he came. He gave his life once and for all. We are redeemed by his blood and we are healed because his body was broken for us (1 Peter 2:24.) Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God.
