Lift Up Mine Hand Unto the LORD

Genesis 14:22-23, 15:1
And Abram, said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth,
That I will not take from a tread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shoudest say, I have made Abram rich: . . .
After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision saying, Fear not, Abram; I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.

Psalm 119:48
My hands also will I lift up unto thy commandments, which I have loved; and I will meditate in thy statutes.

To lift up your hand to God is to elevate Him and surrender to His care. You trust God by trusting His Word. Abraham trusted God to supply all of his material need. He would not take any gift from the king of Sodom. God acknowledged Abraham's trust and promised that He would protect and provide for him as his "shield and exceeding great reward." "Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens." Lamentations 3:41
