The Mouth of God
Matthew 4:4
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God [God Breathed], and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

God uses figures of speech in His Word to tell us what is important. God is spirit and He does not have a mouth as people do. The figure of speech, "out of the mouth of God", is used in God's Word to tell us how important it is for us to know that the Bible is God's Word and that the words in the Bible came from God. The five words "given by inspiration of God" are translated from a one-word figure of speech [theopneustos] in the Greek text. God-breathed ALL of the scripture. Just like the words "out of the mouth of God", the figure of speech "God-breathed" tells us how important it is for us to know that the scripture came from God. God is spirit and He does not breathe as people do; and even people do not breathe scripture. God wants us to know that the Bible is God's Word!
