The Name of the LORD

Proverbs 18:10
The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

Exodus 3:13-14
And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?
And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

Moses asked God what His name was and God answered "I am that I am" or "I will be whatever I will be." God's Name tells who and what God is. God will be whatever He needs to be to meet our needs.

When Moses brought the children of Israel to God, God told them His name and He said:
"The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation." - Exodus 34:6-7

God's Name shows all the things that He is and does for us. God is our Father. That is why we can run into the strong tower of God's Name and be safe.
