A Place for You

John 14:1-4
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
And wither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

In the Bible lands, a newly wed couple takes a twelve month honeymoon spending one month with the bride's parents and the next with the groom's parents. At the end of the twelve month period, a ceremony is held. They have spent the last month with the bride's parents. The husband then approaches his wife and makes a formal statement. "Let not your heart be troubled . . ." The husband will then go and prepare an apartment in his father's house where the couple will live permanently. The husband promises to return for his bride when the apartment is ready. These same words were spoken by Jesus Christ to his disciples at the last supper. Jesus Christ promised to prepare a permanent living place for believers "in his Father's house." What a great promise to believe.
