Planted Together

Romans 6:4-5
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

Philippians 3:20-21
For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

Jesus Christ was our substitute and we are identified with him. God compares the burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ to the growing of a new plant. A seed is planted in the ground just as Jesus Christ's natural body was planted in the grave. That which was planted then rises from the ground as a new plant.
Jesus Christ was resurrected with a new glorious body. The Word of God tells us that when Jesus Christ was buried we were buried with him and that just as he was raised up with a new glorious body we too shall receive a glorious body like his resurrected body.
