Redeeming the Time

Ephesians 5:15-16
See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Colossians 4:5-6
Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.
Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

James 4:14
Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

When you redeem something you pay a price to get it back. We buy time from the world by speaking God's Word. Our days to live on this earth are too short to waste on worldly things. Ask anyone who is 50 years old and they will tell you it seems like just yesterday they were a teenager. Our life here is like a vapor. It is gone in a moment. It is as nothing compared to the eternal life God has given us. We can redeem the time we have now by living for God and speaking His wonderful Word.
