John 17:17
Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

II Thessalonians 2:13
But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

"Sanctified" means to be "set apart from that which is common." The Greek word translated "sanctified" in the Bible is also translated "holy" or "saint." God has set us apart from that which is common in the world by placing His holy spirit in us when we believed the truth. We are His separated ones. We are holy. We are saints.
