The Seed of God's Word

Luke 8:11
Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

1 John 1:1
That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of Life.

1 Peter 1:23
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. "Seed" is used in the Bible to represent LIFE. When a farmer plants a seed it has life in it and it grows and develops into a living plant. God's Word is likened to seed because God's Word has life in it and it produces life. When a man or woman confesses with their mouth the Lord Jesus and believes in their heart that God raised him from the dead (God's Word regarding salvation - Romans 10:9), that person receives eternal life from God. That person is born again of incorruptible seed by the Word of God which liveth and abideth for ever and produces eternal life. . . . thy word hath quickened me (given me life) - Psalm 119:50
