Knit Together in Love

Colossians 2:2
That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ.

The mystery of God, hid from ages and generations, regarding the one body of Christ and the greatness of all that the Father had prepared for believers is acknowledged and fully understood when we are knit together in love.  That which we have received in Christ, we received together.

Received Together

Romans 6:3-5
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

Ephesians 2:5-6
Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

We were buried together - planted in the likeness of his death, made alive together with Christ, raised up together, and seated together in the heavenlies in Christ Jesus.  That which we have received we have received together.

Builded Together

Ephesians 2:20-22
   And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

We are collectively God's habitation.  God lives in the believers.  We are builded together as believers are added to the body of Christ into a holy temple - a dwelling place for God.

1 Corinthians 3:9
For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.

We labor together with God to build His dwelling place.  We are together His building.

One Body Together

1 Corinthians 12:13-27
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
For the body is not one member, but many.
If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing?  If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?
But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.
And if they were all one member, where were the body?
But now are they many members, yet but one body.
And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee:  nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.
Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:
And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.
For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked:
That there should be no schism [division] in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.
And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.
Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

We are one body together in Christ.  One member of the body cannot say, "I am going to walk alone with God."  Nor can one member say, "You are not important to my walk with God."  We are one body in Christ.  Christ is the head and God has tempered the body together.  As each member of the body of Christ contributes to its growth, directed by the head, the body increases and is built up - edified together in the love of God.

Ephesians 4:15-16
But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

Colossians 2:19
And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.

The body of Christ is nourished as each member is knit together in love and supplies his or her part to the growth of the body as directed by the head - Christ.  We are one body together.  We each supply our part and the body increases with the increase of God as He adds believers.

Glorified Together

Romans 8:17
And if children, then heirs, heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified together.

The day is coming when Christ shall return and gather us together to be glorified.  What a day that will be!

1 Thessalonians 4:17
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

1 Thessalonians 5:9-11
For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
Who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

We are in this together.  We have received together.  We are builded together.  We are one body together.  We walk together and edify one another in love and the body grows.  We will be gathered together and glorified together when Christ returns.

Hebrews 10:25
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more as ye see the day approaching.
