When are we the sons of God? Now!  When we believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and that God raised him from the dead [Romans 10:9-10] we are born again of God's Spirit: we are His sons.  Not when we die, not some day, not a "maybe" day, but right NOW!  Today, in our every day-by-day living we are the sons of God.  Our life is wonderful now!   It will be even greater when the Lord Jesus Christ returns and we receive a body like unto his glorious body [Philippians 3:20-21] and we see him "as he is."

   As sons of God, our Father has provided us with many tremendous sonship rights that we can enjoy NOW!  We do not have to wait.  These are ours now.  We only have to accept them and live in light of His wonderful gift to us - We are His sons.

Salvation - Salvation is for ALL
II Corinthians 6:2 
   (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. [wholeness])

   Salvation is the Greek word sozo which means wholeness.  When we believed Romans 10:9-10 we became whole.  We received spirit and became (as God originally intended) men and women of body, soul, AND spirit.  That which was lost in man was regained via the work of Christ.  We are whole NOW!   And we shall receive a body like his glorious body at his return which will be a wholeness never before seen.  NOW is the day of wholeness for believers.

Reconciled - Reconciliation
Romans 5:10-11 
   For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. 
   And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement [reconciliation].

Colossians 1:21-22 
   And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
   In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

   Reconciliation is to bring back together that which was separated.  We were separated from God by the sin of Adam.  We were body and soul without a spiritual connection with God.  We were alienated and enemies of God.  But NOW, we are reconciled.  Now, we are brought back together with God via the work of Christ.  Now, we are  unblameable and unreproveable in his sight.  We are His sons now!

Justified - Our Legal Justification
Romans 5:6-9 
   For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 
   For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. 
   But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 
   Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

   Justification is a legal pronouncement.  It is "just as if I never sinned."  Think of a court room in which you stand accused (rightfully) of a capital crime.  The judge is about to pronounce a death sentence upon you for your crime when in walks the Lord Jesus Christ and proclaims that he will take the death punishment for you.  You are set free and he is executed in your place.  You are justified.  You are free.  It is just as if you never sinned because your crime was paid for by the Lord Jesus Christ.  We are justified NOW! And we shall be saved from wrath in the future.

Free from sin, Holy, with Life Everlasting  - Free Indeed
Romans 6:22 
   But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

   Not only are we now free from sin, justified before God, but we are holy as God is holy because He has created holy spirit within us.  We are freed from sin NOW!  We are holy NOW!  And we will live forever for He has given us everlasting life NOW!  We are the sons of God.

Righteous - Righteous Now
Romans 3:21 
   But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

   Righteousness is the God given justification whereby we can stand in the presence of God without any sense of sin, guilt, or condemnation.  We are righteousness NOW!  We have been justified from sin by the work of Christ.  We can hold our heads high without any sense of sin, guilt, or condemnation because He has made us righteous now!  We are God's sons.

No Condemnation  - Who Can Separate Us?
Romans 8:1 
   There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus,

   When we believed Romans 10:9-10 and became God's sons, we were justified from sin, we were made righteous before God.  There can be no condemnation for Jesus Christ was condemned for us so that we would be made free from sin.  There is no condemnation now!

   The greatness of that which God has given us now was not revealed until it was made known to the Apostle Paul.  Anyone who believes, Jew or Gentile, can become a son of God.  God now classifies people in three categories - Jew, Gentile, or Church of God.  Those who believe now are no longer Jew or Gentile.  The administration of the Grace of God in which believers are all members of the body of Christ and are no longer Jew or Gentile was kept secret in God until NOW!  The Judean people knew that God would send Christ to reconcile them, but that sonship would be available to all who believe and that eternal salvation would be by grace? - That was a secret.  How wonderful to know that we can be born again and have the great sonship rights that God has made available to us all NOW!

Ephesians 2:11-13 
   Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
   That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: 
   But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

   We, as Gentiles, were not only separated from God by the sin of Adam, but also by the promises made to Israel.  We were without hope!  We were without God in the world!  Israel also was separated from God.  But NOW?  We are made "next of kin" by the blood of Christ.  We are the Church of God where there is no longer Jew or Gentile.  We are the sons of God now!  And God kept it all a secret. But now we know!

I Peter 2:10 
   Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

   Mercy is active compassion. It is an active desire to relieve the miserable. Prompted by the distress of the miserable the one who shows mercy strives to relieve misery to the best of his ability.  We were not a people.  We were without hope.  We were without God in this world, but NOW?  Now we are the sons of God!  What mercy!

The Mystery is Now Revealed - The Revelation of the Mystery
Ephesians 3:3a,5-6
   How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; . . .
   Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;
   That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

Colossians 1:25-26 
   Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God; Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

   We were without God, without hope, and dead in trespasses and sins.  There was no promise in Christ.  But God had a secret - a secret dispensation, administration, or time of grace.  And now it is revealed!  Now we are partakers [sharing fully] of His promise in Christ!  Now we are fellowheirs! Now we are the sons of God!

Light - God Is Light
Ephesians 5:8 
   For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

   We were darkness.  We were dead.  We were separated from God.  We were without hope.  But NOW?  Now we are light in the Lord.  Now we are reconciled.  Now we are saved.  Now we are justified.  Now we are righteous.  Now we are without sin or condemnation.  Now we are sons of God!  What light to walk in!  Now is the time!
